BUSINESS ASSISTANT POSITION

May/June – SEPTEMBER

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being the “go-to” support person behind the scenes and helping keep a small business running smoothly day-to-day. The business assistant helps with communication, organization, guest support, and general operations. This position requires a high level of flexibility, strong attention to detail, and a positive, team-first attitude.

We are looking for someone who loves to take initiative, stay productive, and can juggle a variety of tasks with professionalism. If you love keeping things and people organized, and being part of a fun, fast-paced environment on the water, this role could be a great fit for you.

Schedule:

  • 8-16 hrs/wk in early Spring
  • Up to 40 hrs/wk in peak season (July-/Aug)
  • Hiring for Daytime and Evening Shifts
  • Weekends and Holidays are required
  • Option to cross-train boat crew roles

Location:

  • The Office is a floating dock structure and it can be wavy.
  • Primary workplace – Office at Waverly Marina, Portland, OR
  • Passenger Dock is near Riverplace Marina (Secondary location when boat support is needed)

Pay:

$16.30-$20 per hour based on experience (Pay increases may be given based on performance, reliability, and growth in responsibilities.)

Administrative support may include:

  • Handling calls/emails, reservation support and answering guest questions
  • Greeting visitors/vendors and general customer service
  • Always maintaining a professional, polite and cheerful demeanor
  • Assisting with scheduling, internal staff communication, and last-minute changes
  • Preparing checklists, waivers, signage, and cruise-day paperwork
  • Running business errands (supplies, ice, pickups/deliveries)
  • Keeping the office (+kitchen area/dishes area) clean at all times & occasional boat cleaning
  • Organizing / maintaining cruise food/drink/supply inventory and tracking
  • Supporting light boat prep as needed (restock, reset, quick wipe-down)
  • Social media support (optional): photos, short videos, basic posting support
