Cruise Coordinator / Boat Crew (full time)

Wage: $25-40/hour
General Position Summary:
Do you love helping people turn their visions into reality? Do you have event planning experience? Island Style Charters is looking for a welcoming and warm personality to join our team. From March – October, we cruise the Willamette River while maintaining a fun, tropical atmosphere for our passengers.
The Cruise Coordinator is responsible for coordinating logistical aspects of public and private charter bookings to ensure a seamless and high-quality guest experience. This role involves client communication, booking management, scheduling, invoicing, and coordination with the office staff, Captain, crew, and vendors. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to coordinate with various stakeholders to deliver seamless customer experiences.
As this is a newly created position in a growing business, responsibilities will initially span multiple functions, including guest coordination, booking administration, and limited deckhand/server/host duties as needed. Over time, the role will evolve to focus more on logistics and client services as additional members join the team.
Core Responsibilities:

- Manage schedules and online booking system for both public cruises and private charters.
- Coordinate with the sales team and crew to ensure seamless execution of private charters.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for guest inquiries, booking modifications, private charter itineraries and customizations, last-minute adjustments and special requests.
- Ensure smooth check-in, logistics, and crew coordination for all cruises.
- Monitor public cruise occupancy and assist in maximizing bookings through marketing initiatives.
- Generate, update and process invoices and payments; and, track billing for private charters.
- Maintain customer databases for future marketing and outreach efforts.
Administrative & Operational Support:
- Oversee company-wide communications, including phone, email, and mail distribution.
- Support marketing efforts, including guest engagement and promotional outreach.
- Assist with inventory management for onboard food and beverage stock.
- Perform deckhand, server/ bartender and host duties when necessary.
- Support administrative tasks and company errands as assigned.
Deckhand, Server & Host Cross-Training:
- Assist with boarding, disembarking, and passenger safety procedures.
- Provide basic deckhand support such as lookout duties and docking assistance.
- Provide exceptional customer service while bartending, serving, and engaging with guests.
- Engage with and entertain guests with onboard activities, sharing trivia and sightseeing facts.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older (to serve alcohol).
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Apps (Docs, Sheets, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- OLCC server permit: May be required to obtain prior to employment.
- May be required to maintain a CPR / First Aid Certification.
- May be required to maintain an Oregon Boaters Card and/or Oregon Food Handlers Card.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Comfortable in a dynamic (always changing) work environment.
- Proficiency with Adobe Suite (Creative Cloud) is a plus.
- Familiarity with booking platforms is a plus.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
- Primarily office-based with some on-water responsibilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in all weather conditions.
- Must be comfortable on docks, boats and walking on uneven/slippery surfaces.
- Basic swim skills required (as a precaution).
- Must comply with company policies at all times.
Supervision:
- This role is supervised by the Owners (and/or Captain of the cruise boat while underway).
- This role is not responsible for any supervisory oversight of any other staff member.
